An unidentified man was rescued after reportedly attempting to jump into the Lagos Lagoon from a bridge in a dramatic incident that drew swift intervention from local fishermen.

Eyewitnesses said the man parked his vehicle on the bridge before entering the water, triggering alarm among passersby who quickly raised concern over his safety.
The situation was brought under control when fishermen operating nearby rushed to the scene and pulled the man out of the lagoon, preventing what could have become a fatal outcome.
A video of the rescue later surfaced on social media, shared by Isaac Fayose, who called for greater attention to mental health and urged Nigerians to check on loved ones.
“Please, check on your family and friends. This just happened today. Who knows what went wrong,” Isaac Fayose wrote in the post accompanying the footage.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and authorities have yet to confirm details or release an official statement.
As of the time of reporting, the Lagos State Police Command had not commented on the development.
