Foluke Daramola Salako APC primary statement praises Remi Tinubu and party leaders for support during Oshodi-Isolo contest

Hon. Foluke Daramola-Salako, House of Representatives aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I, on Friday in Lagos, Nigeria, expressed appreciation to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, alongside national, state and local leaders of the All Progressives Congress following the party’s recently concluded primary election.

In a statement issued after the APC House of Representatives primary, Daramola-Salako commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for championing women’s participation in politics and governance through advocacy for the 35 per cent affirmative action policy.

The actress-turned-politician said the First Lady’s leadership and commitment inspired many women across the country to actively participate in the political process, including the just concluded primary election.

Daramola-Salako stated that Tinubu’s consistent advocacy had reinforced the belief that public service should remain open to individuals willing to serve with dedication and integrity, regardless of gender.

The Foluke Daramola Salako APC primary reaction also acknowledged the support of political leaders at various levels, traditional rulers, party members and residents of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I for embracing her aspiration.

She further appreciated fellow aspirants who participated in the contest, praising their maturity and sportsmanship throughout the process.

“In this contest, there is truly no victor and no vanquished,” Daramola-Salako said, adding that all stakeholders remained committed to the collective development of Oshodi-Isolo under the leadership of the APC.

The statement highlighted growing conversations around women’s inclusion in Nigerian politics, particularly within major political parties ahead of future electoral contests.
