Emotional scenes marked the Alex Ekubo burial in Arochukwu, Abia State, as family, colleagues and fans paid final respects to the late Nollywood actor on June 18, 2026

Family members, close friends and Nollywood colleagues gathered for the emotional burial of beloved actor Alex Ekubo, bringing to a close days of mourning for the talented performer.

His remains were received at his father’s residence on Wednesday, followed by a solemn wake-keeping ceremony attended by several industry heavyweights.

The final farewell today featured heartfelt tributes and moving scenes as loved ones paid their last respects.

Prominent figures from the Nigerian film industry, including Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, Mike Godson, Omoni Oboli and Ayo Makun, joined the family and community members to honour the late actor.

Videos and photographs circulating on social media captured the deep sorrow and fond memories shared throughout the day.

The ceremony adopted a touching white theme, with mourners dressed in white attire and the venue beautifully decorated in the same colour, symbolising peace, purity and lasting remembrance.
