Edo State House of Assembly member Natasha Osawaru has sparked reactions after introducing herself by her maiden surname, Osawaru, rather than Idibia, the surname of her estranged husband, Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba.
In a video shared on her Instagram account, the lawmaker introduced herself as “Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru” while addressing the Assembly.

She said, “Mr Speaker, my name is Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, member representing the very great people of Egor Constituency and, by God’s grace, the minority leader of this House.”
The introduction has attracted attention amid continuing speculation about the state of her relationship with the music star.
However, neither Natasha’s use of her maiden name nor the online reactions establish that the couple have formally separated.
The couple’s relationship came under public scrutiny in August after Natasha made an unexpected appearance at an Abuja nightclub where 2Baba was scheduled to perform.
A video that subsequently circulated online appeared to show the pair engaged in a heated exchange, further fuelling speculation about tension in their relationship.
Questions about their marriage intensified again when Natasha was absent from the singer’s 51st birthday celebration in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The gathering was attended by 2Baba’s children, his mother, Rose Idibia, and several entertainment personalities, including Kenny Ogungbe, Dayo “D1” Adeneye, Wande Coal, African China, Ayo Makun, Faze and Tony Tetuila.
Her absence prompted further discussion among social media users about the couple’s relationship.
Despite the growing speculation, neither Natasha nor 2Baba had publicly confirmed a separation or explained why she did not attend the birthday celebration, according to the report.
Natasha’s introduction at the Edo State House of Assembly has therefore added another talking point to the ongoing public discussion surrounding the couple.

For now, her decision to use the name Osawaru has drawn attention online, but no official statement has established whether it reflects any change in her marital status.
