A businessman, Abdullahi Jibril, has accused his friend, Haruna Likita, of marrying his former fiancée, Mariam Ibrahim, and moving into a house he allegedly rented for them in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
Jibril filed a direct criminal complaint against the duo at the Upper Area Court in Mararaba on October 27, accusing them of criminal conspiracy, cheating, breach of trust and threat to life.

According to the complaint, Jibril, who lives in Rugan Juli, Mararaba, alleged that the incident occurred in 2025 when Ibrahim, his former fiancée, tricked him into going to Likita’s house for a marital rite.
He told the court that his friend subsequently married Ibrahim, after which the couple moved into the house he had rented for them.
“My friend went behind me and married my fiancée, and they both moved into the house I rented for us,” Jibril was quoted as saying.
He further alleged that the defendants were living in the property and using items he had purchased.
Jibril also claimed that Likita had threatened him after he took the matter to court.
However, both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding judge, Malam Mohammed Shomo, granted each defendant bail in the sum of ₦200,000, with one surety in a like sum.
The court adjourned the case until November 10 for hearing.
