The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was declared the victor of the Anambra gubernatorial election in 17 of the 19 local government areas declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the INEC returning officer, Dr. German Anagbogu, the APC received 1,233 votes, the PDP 1,401 votes, and the APGA 1,918 votes in Anambra West.
The collation, however, has been postponed for 40 minutes, after which the final result will be released.
Prof. Florence Obi, the state returning officer and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, said
“We’ll take a rest after this and focus on returning. We should discuss one of the local governments (Orumba North). It is necessary to know that no election was held in Ihiala. “
“We are going to discuss one of the local governments (Orumba North), but there was no election at all in Ihiala. We’ll take a break for a while and then return.”
