The drama unfolded after Baba Alado released a video highlighting repeated damage to his vehicle caused by the state’s dilapidated road network.
In the clip, he reportedly used strong language while expressing frustration over the condition of key roads during visits to Ogun State.
Governor Abiodun, in a now widely circulated video response, suggested that certain online critics were sponsored to undermine his administration.
While he did not directly name Alado, social media users linked the governor’s comments to the content creator’s outburst.
Unconfirmed reports claimed security operatives, including DSS and police officers, allegedly laid siege to Alado’s residence, forcing him into hiding.
In a follow-up video, Baba Alado apologised to Governor Abiodun for the tone and choice of words in his initial statement.
“First, let me say that I am not afraid of being arrested because we voted you to make our grievances known,” he said.
He added that his frustration over repeated vehicle damage influenced the intensity of his comments.
“I would like to apologise for the way I addressed you in the video. I said everything that I said out of frustration because my car was damaged due to bad road the two times I visited the state,” Alado explained.
He also denied claims that he was sponsored to criticise the Ogun State government, emphasising, “I will also deny that I was paid to attack your administration.”
