Riverine and coastal communities across Lagos will host dedicated Continuous Voter Registration centres from July 16 to 19
Blue Lagos has announced that residents of riverine and coastal communities across Lagos State will benefit from an expanded Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration exercise, aimed at making voter enrolment more accessible ahead of future elections.

The Blue Lagos INEC Registration initiative will run from Thursday, July 16, to Sunday, July 19, 2026, covering selected communities across the state’s coastal and riverine corridors as part of INEC’s ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration programme.
According to Blue Lagos, the intervention follows sustained engagement and advocacy with electoral authorities to ensure that residents of hard-to-reach communities are not excluded from the voter registration process because of geographical barriers.
The organisation said the extension of registration services reflects its commitment to promoting civic participation and ensuring that every eligible resident has an opportunity to obtain a Permanent Voter Card.
The exercise will take place in selected communities across Badagry, Epe, Eti-Osa, Ojo, Amuwo-Odofin, Apapa, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikorodu, Kosofe and Lagos Mainland, with dedicated registration centres established within or close to the affected communities.
Blue Lagos urged eligible residents living in riverine areas to visit the registration centre closest to their communities on the dates scheduled by INEC.
The organisation also advised residents to consult the official registration timetable for details of designated centres, participating communities and registration dates under the current phase of the exercise.
“This intervention is part of INEC’s ongoing Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise, which has been taking place across various communities in Lagos State,” Blue Lagos said in a statement.
The organisation added that the initiative was designed to ensure “more residents have convenient access to voter registration services” through the establishment of additional registration centres in underserved coastal communities.
Nigeria’s Continuous Voter Registration exercise enables eligible citizens who have reached voting age, changed their place of residence, lost or damaged their Permanent Voter Cards, or require updates to their voter information to register or make necessary corrections ahead of elections.
In Lagos, access to voter registration has historically posed challenges for some riverine settlements because of transportation constraints and the distance between communities and conventional registration centres.
Civil society groups and community organisations have increasingly advocated decentralised registration services to improve electoral inclusion for residents in coastal areas.
Blue Lagos said community leaders would work alongside officials to mobilise residents and provide guidance throughout the registration exercise, encouraging eligible voters not to miss the opportunity.
The organisation advised residents seeking additional information to contact their community leaders or follow official Blue Lagos communication channels for updates on registration schedules and locations.

The initiative underscores growing efforts to expand electoral participation by bringing public services closer to communities that have traditionally faced logistical barriers, reinforcing the message that no eligible voter should be left behind because of where they live.
