Apostle Chikere Nwafor is accused of shipping her car from the UK to Nigeria and falsely claiming it stolen, according to her ex-husband
Apostle Chikere Nwafor, founder of Heaven’s Gateway Ministries, has been accused of shipping her vehicle from the United Kingdom to Nigeria and falsely declaring it stolen to her insurance company, according to her ex-husband, Martin Ogbulu.

Speaking to SaharaReporters, Martin said the first indication of wrongdoing emerged when the car, normally parked in the UK, vanished without explanation.
Nwafor allegedly told him the vehicle had been borrowed by cousins for a family event.
“More than a month later, she suddenly called me in a panic, saying her insurance company was going to contact me,” Martin said.

He claimed that Nwafor reported the car as stolen and sent emails to her UK insurers while she was in Nigeria.
Martin alleged that the insurance company later paid Nwafor approximately £17,000 following the claim.
He identified the vehicle as a Lexus RX450h, which he said was never stolen but deliberately shipped to Nigeria.
Martin provided photographic evidence to support his claims.
“This is the same car she is using here in Nigeria,” he stated. “The car didn’t disappear. It was moved.”
The ex-husband also described Nwafor’s behaviour as part of a “long-standing pattern of deceptive conduct,” citing her alleged manipulation of situations using her contacts.
In a separate issue, Nwafor was previously accused of orchestrating the arrest and prolonged detention of Mr. Alfred Morris Oyawari, a longtime caretaker of her church properties in Lagos State.
Alfred, who oversaw the church’s construction projects since 2018 on a monthly salary of just ₦40,000, has been held at Ikoyi Prison since April 2025 following allegations of missing building materials.
Martin claimed that law enforcement officers handling Alfred’s case were influenced by Nwafor, resulting in repeated court delays.

He warned that the case reflects a broader pattern of abuse targeting vulnerable Nigerians allegedly powerless against influential figures.

SaharaReporters made repeated attempts to reach Apostle Chikere Nwafor for comment on both allegations, but she did not respond.
