Femi Otedola has praised Aliko Dangote over the expansion of the Dangote Refinery, saying the project will raise capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day
Billionaire businessman and philanthropist Femi Otedola has lauded fellow billionaire Aliko Dangote over the ongoing expansion of the Dangote Refinery.

In a post shared on his official X handle on Sunday, Otedola described the refinery as the “eighth wonder of the world” following a visit to the facility.
“Today 15 February 2026, I visited the Dangote Refinery, what I call the 8th wonder of the world,” he wrote.
Otedola further disclosed that upon completion of the expansion project, the refinery’s production capacity is expected to increase to 1.4 million barrels per day.
“After successful completion of this expansion project, capacity will increase to 1.4m barrels per day … F.Ote 💲,” he added.
The commendation comes after the refinery’s management announced that it had reached its full nameplate capacity of 650,000 barrels per day following the restoration and optimisation of its Crude Distillation Unit and Motor Spirit production block.

The Dangote Refinery, one of Africa’s largest industrial projects, is widely seen as a game-changer for Nigeria’s energy sector, with expectations that it will reduce fuel imports and strengthen domestic refining capacity.
