Eyewitnesses reported that the crash occurred on the single-lane stretch of road just before entering the town, a section often described by motorists as narrow and prone to gridlock.
The incident resulted in what commuters called “hellish traffic,” leaving vehicles stranded for hours.
Although the exact cause of the accident has not yet been officially confirmed, drivers attributed the situation to the narrow structure of the road and the high volume of heavy-duty vehicles plying the route.
The Ibadan–Ogbomosho road serves as a major link between Oyo State and northern parts of Nigeria, making it a critical transport corridor for goods and passengers.
Any disruption along the route typically results in significant delays and economic setbacks for commuters and transporters.
