Iyabo Ojo regrets Mohbad exhumation

Iyabo Ojo regrets advocating for Mohbad’s exhumation amidst family disputes and delays in burial. The case remains unresolved with ongoing DNA testing.

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly expressed regret over her role in advocating for the exhumation of late singer Mohbad’s body.

In an emotional interview with Biola Bayo on the ‘Talk to B’ podcast, Ojo revealed her dismay at the ongoing delays in Mohbad’s burial and the ongoing family disputes surrounding the late artist’s death.

“I wouldn’t have requested that Mohbad be exhumed if I knew his case would turn out this way,” Ojo shared. Her regret stems from the unresolved issues surrounding the singer’s final moments, and the subsequent complications involving his family.

Mohbad, whose death on 12 September 2023 remains shrouded in controversy, has not yet been reburied, with his father, Joseph Aloba, insisting that a DNA test be conducted on Mohbad’s son, Liam, before any further proceedings.

The late singer’s body was exhumed by the Lagos State Police on 21 September 2023 for an autopsy in a bid to clarify the cause of death. Despite these efforts, tensions within the family remain high.

According to Ojo, Mohbad’s father had initially requested the DNA test but had placed conditions on it. “I just wanted Mohbad’s body exhumed so they could do the autopsy to find out the cause of his death.

I did my best to be sure that everyone was investigated, but when they came up with different theories, DNA became more important to them,” she explained.

Ojo’s statement reflects the emotional and complex nature of the case, with numerous theories emerging about the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. As the legal and familial disputes continue, many await further clarity on the singer’s tragic end.
