NSCDC Kwara arrest sees 12 suspected illegal immigrants detained with passports, phones, and cash recovered in Ilorin operation
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 12 suspected illegal immigrants in Ilorin, the state capital.
The arrests were confirmed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC 1 Ayoola Michael Shola.

Shola stated that following intelligence received, NSCDC personnel apprehended six suspected Malian nationals at around 10 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in the Akerebiata area.
The arrested individuals include Umar Sangari, 25; Bubu Bill, 43; Modibo Keita, 26; Mahmud Jaalo, 22; Bakare Sumonu, 20; Saiku Dubia, 28; Panda Aboubacar, 32; Malle Siaka, 24; Seku Barry, 34; Lamine Bakou, 27; Baye Bolly, 24; and Zuman Traore, 26.
During the operation, NSCDC officials recovered nine mobile phones, two international passports, identification cards, a wristwatch, keys, and cash. The items were said to have been seized as part of evidence collection.

The NSCDC urged residents to report any suspicious movements in their communities and reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing immigration and security laws across Kwara State.
