The operation was carried out on Tuesday at about 4:00 p.m. following credible intelligence that suspected hoodlums had gathered at an uncompleted building for unlawful assembly, chanting, alcohol consumption and alleged initiation rites.
Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the arrest in a statement.
He said the suspects attempted to flee during the raid, abandoning four vehicles which were later recovered along with other exhibits including a jackknife, a local drum, a sekere rattle, and several bottles suspected to contain alcoholic drinks.
The arrested suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation. They will be charged to court upon completion of the process.

Reacting to the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers for their professionalism and swift response.
He described the raid as “a clear demonstration of the Command’s sustained intelligence-led policing strategy and zero tolerance for violent crime and unlawful assemblies.” Ojajuni reiterated that cultism and related criminal activities would not be tolerated anywhere in the state.
The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious gatherings or activities to the nearest police formation.
