Chief Mrs. Abegunde, founder of the Jummy I Care Foundation, received the commendation during an official visit to the mayor’s office in Brampton, where community leaders acknowledged her sustained commitment to grassroots development and entrepreneurship.

Olajumoke Abegunde philanthropy recognition followed years of philanthropic work that has directly impacted more than 8,000 vulnerable individuals across Ondo State, including widows, elderly residents, women and children.

According to the foundation, over 3,000 widows and elderly persons have received humanitarian support, while more than 5,000 women have benefited from skills acquisition and empowerment programmes designed to encourage financial independence and enterprise.

Chief Mrs. Abegunde has also sponsored youth-focused initiatives, including essay competitions, entrepreneurship programmes, medical outreaches and feeding schemes for vulnerable communities.

A graduate of Criminology and Security Studies from the National Open University of Nigeria, the philanthropist said sustainable community growth depends on individuals contributing meaningfully to society.

In a significant international collaboration, the Jummy I Care Foundation partnered with the Habeeb Okunola Foundation and the MakeMee Elegant Foundation to organise a free skill acquisition programme for residents in Brampton.

Participants were trained in several vocational crafts, including resin bag production, customised photo books, ornamental flower vase creation and fabric image printing.

During the ceremony, Brampton officials praised Chief Mrs. Abegunde’s powerful commitment to social impact and entrepreneurship development.

The mayor also presented her with a signed certificate of appreciation in recognition of her charitable contributions.
