The social media controversy erupted on Monday, February 10, 2026, after the actress shared her views in a series of Instagram posts.
Shyngle asserted that women in committed relationships should not face financial difficulties, emphasising that partners are expected to provide for one another.
She expressed frustration at receiving direct messages from women requesting money, noting that many of them are already married or in relationships.
“What are your partners doing for you?” she questioned.
The actress contrasted this with the struggles of single women, who, according to her, work hard daily without the financial support of a partner.
She stated, “Struggling is meant for single women only. If you are married, engaged, you have a boyfriend or a man in your life… that word, struggling, should not exist in your vocabulary.”
Shyngle also highlighted the irony of married women seeking financial support from single women, saying it undermines the independence of those navigating life alone.
“Majority of the people that beg me for money on social media are either married women or women with a man. Are you not ashamed of yourself? You are coming to beg single women?” she added.
Her comments have sparked a wave of responses on social media, with some supporting her perspective on financial responsibility in relationships, while others criticised the statement as insensitive to the economic realities many women face.
