Reno Omokri criticises Toke Makinwa for her remarks on 2Baba and Annie Macaulay’s divorce, calling her intervention unwarranted
[dropcap]R[/dropcap]eno Omokri has taken a firm stand against media personality Toke Makinwa following her public remarks on 2Baba’s ongoing divorce proceedings with his wife, Annie.

The controversy began after the hip-hop icon acknowledged and defended his decision to post about the divorce on social media, which triggered mixed reactions online.
Makinwa was one of the vocal critics, condemning 2Baba’s decision to share such a private matter publicly.
In her direct response, she stated: “This is wrong on all levels, and you should be ashamed of yourself for bringing this here. If you think she’s alone, let me tell you here that you’ll have to fight all of us.”
She continued her criticism on her Instagram story, urging women not to stay silent.
She argued that failing to address such matters would set a dangerous precedent, potentially affecting future generations.
“What is wrong is wrong, and as a woman, if you sit on the fence, it could touch your daughter or any female in your family,” she wrote.
Reno Omokri, however, dismissed such interventions as unwarranted and self-serving.
In a detailed response, he accused individuals like Makinwa of exploiting the couple’s private issues to gain public attention.
According to Omokri, such actions are neither helpful nor appropriate, particularly when children are involved.

He wrote: “People who are not the couple involved but publicly and unsolicitedly involve themselves in marital or divorce disputes do not love either of the parties to the conflict. They just use their ordeal to prop up dead careers or promote new projects. It is highly irresponsible to insert yourself into such issues, especially if children and young adults are involved. Marriage and divorce are private and personal matters that do not require your public or private interference. You can’t be betrayed or devastated by proxy or on behalf of the couples involved. They have mouths. Use yours for yourself, and let them use theirs for themselves.”
