Hollywood actor Richard Hurst, known for his role in The Dukes of Hazzard, has died at age 79. The cause of death remains unknown, TMZ reports

The veteran Hollywood actor was best known for his role as Deputy Cletus Hogg in the hit series The Dukes of Hazzard.

According to a report by TMZ, Hurst passed away on Thursday.

The cause of his death has not been disclosed, and sources say the news came as a complete shock to his family.

Hurst’s acting legacy spans several decades, with notable appearances in iconic TV shows such as Sanford and Son, The Partridge Family, MASH\, Gunsmoke, and The Bob Newhart Show.

His familiar face became a fixture in American households during the golden age of television.

His son, who has also made a name for himself in Hollywood, is known for his role in the popular drama series Sons of Anarchy, continuing the family’s connection to the screen.
