The forms, valued at ₦50 million, were picked up on his behalf, confirming his intention to contest for the state’s top political office under the ruling party.
The APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, announced the commencement of the nomination process at the party’s national secretariat, where the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms were formally issued to Adeola’s representative.
The development positions Senator Adeola among the early contenders for the APC governorship ticket as political activities gradually build ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The move comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues preparations for the next election cycle across the country.
INEC has scheduled the Presidential and National Assembly elections for 16 January 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold on 6 February 2027.
The commission also fixed party primaries and resolution of related disputes between 23 April and 30 May 2026, while campaign activities are expected to commence later in the year.

Political observers say early entry into the race reflects growing competition within the APC as aspirants position themselves ahead of the party’s primaries and the general election.
