Simi's statement stupid, Daniel Regha lashes out over singer's apology

Daniel Regha lashes out at Simi, calling her apology over controversial tweets “stupid” and accusing her of downplaying serious misconduct

Daniel Regha has criticised Nigerian singer Simi over her recent statement defending controversial tweets, calling her apology “stupid” and accusing her of downplaying the issue.

In a post on X (@DanielRegha), Regha said: “Simi could’ve easily own up to her mistakes and taken seriously accountability but instead, try to downplay the whole thing with the I adore children card. Ummm, no. What she did was perversion, there’s no two way around it, point blank period.”

Simi had explained, “My team has been deleting some of my tweets because of how sensitive it is for my family.”

Regha responded sharply, questioning her justification: “How dare you (Simi)? If it wasn’t a problem and despicable act, it won’t be sensitive for her family. Now that she’s a mother, let her switch the table and see how very disturbing that act was. What an utterly stup’d statement to put out.”

The exchange has reignited online debates about accountability, public scrutiny, and responsible social media conduct among celebrities.
