Apology came through a video posted on her Instagram page, where the singer said she never intended to dismiss or undermine the pain of affected families.
Alaseyori explained that her earlier comments on the incident had been misunderstood, adding that she only sought to address the broader issue of insecurity while encouraging prayers for national peace.
She said she later realised that many Nigerians felt her remarks failed to acknowledge the depth of pain experienced by families of the abducted victims.
“I did a video two days ago about the kidnapped children, touching on government, parastatals and every agency. But when I woke up yesterday, I found out that some well-meaning Nigerians were not happy about it,” she said.
The singer expressed particular sympathy for mothers and families affected by the incident, pleading for forgiveness in an emotional appeal.
“You know me too well that I would never make you feel like that. Mothers, do not be offended. I am sorry. I beg in God’s name. Please, forgive me,” she added.
Alaseyori reiterated that she would never deliberately disregard the suffering of victims or their families, insisting her intentions were misunderstood.]
