Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi refutes allegations of inciting violence, emphasising peace and denying any call for attacks on APC supporters.

[dropcap]O[/dropcap]ba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi, the Alapomu of Apomu, has firmly denied allegations of inciting electoral violence in Osun State.

The Osun monarch clarified his stance in a public statement, rejecting claims that he had urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to attack supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 election.

In the statement, which was signed by his Media Aide, Tolu Adetunji, Oba Afolabi expressed concern over the misinterpretation of a recent video where he addressed the crowd at a road construction inauguration in Apomu.

The monarch emphasised that the video did not contain any reference to the 2027 election or to the APC, dismissing the allegations as “false and fabricated.”

“The allegation is false and fabricated. I am a man of peace. I do not encourage or support violence in any form or manner,” stated Oba Afolabi.

He stressed that his words had been taken out of context and reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace in the community.

This denial comes in the wake of mounting political tensions ahead of the 2027 elections, with many traditional leaders under scrutiny for perceived political affiliations.

Oba Afolabi’s statement aims to reinforce his neutrality and support for peaceful, democratic processes in Osun State.

The monarch’s message underscores his dedication to peaceful leadership, reinforcing his role as a custodian of unity and stability within Apomu and beyond.
