The arrest was confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, following a coordinated operation on September 6, 2025.

The suspects—Ismail Imran, 20, Abdulaziz Yahaya, 31, and Musa Ibrahim Isah, 29—are all residents of Rigasa Quarters, Kaduna State.

The police recovered a blue 2014 Toyota Corolla S, registration number KWL-78 DN, with a broken windscreen during the operation.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the vehicle was stolen in a violent armed robbery attack on September 5 at around 2:00 a.m. in Durumi, Abuja.

The vehicle owner reported that the suspects attacked his family, critically injuring one member before fleeing with the car.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori commended the officers for their swift and professional response. He highlighted that the success reflects the power of community-centered policing, a core value promoted by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

“The suspects are currently assisting with investigations to uncover the full scope of their criminal activities,” Bakori stated.

The Kano Police Command urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious behavior to the nearest police station, reaffirming their commitment to securing lives and property in the state.

Earlier this month, the Kano Police announced the arrest of 107 suspects involved in various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and drug trafficking, underscoring ongoing efforts to maintain security.
