Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie joins CNN’s Glo-sponsored African Voices on Sept 20 to discuss her literary legacy, feminism, and her anticipated novel Dream Count

On Saturday, 20 September 2025, at 11:00 a.m, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will appear on CNN’s African Voices in a much-anticipated episode sponsored by Nigerian telecoms giant Globacom.

The programme will offer a rare and in-depth look at one of Africa’s most influential literary voices.

The Glo-sponsored edition of African Voices — hosted by Larry Madowo — was filmed in Nsukka, Enugu State, the hometown that has shaped much of Adichie’s acclaimed writing.

Viewers will be treated to thoughtful reflections on her career, identity, and the cultural forces behind her work.

Adichie, the award-winning author of Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun, and Americanah, will also introduce her forthcoming novel, Dream Count.

In the episode, she discusses the themes of memory, heritage, and resistance woven into her storytelling — and how her work continues to challenge global narratives about Africa.

With a reputation for incisive commentary on feminism, postcolonial history, and authenticity, Adichie’s conversation promises to spark dialogue far beyond the literary world.

Her appearance on African Voices reaffirms her position not just as a novelist, but as a cultural icon whose voice resonates globally.

CNN International has scheduled multiple rebroadcasts to accommodate global audiences:

  • Sunday, 21 September – 3:30 a.m. & 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, 22 September – 3:00 a.m. & 5:45 p.m.
  • Saturday, 27 September – 7:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.
  • Sunday, 28 September – 3:30 a.m. & 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, 29 September – 3:00 a.m. & 5:45 p.m.

Through Globacom’s continued sponsorship, African Voices has become a premiere platform for elevating African excellence.
