FBI hunts Olumide Adebiyi Adediran, offering a $10,000 reward for his arrest after fleeing federal fraud charges over 20 years ago

A $10,000 reward has been announced for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Nigerian national Olumide Adebiyi Adediran, who has been wanted by the FBI for over 20 years.

Adediran has been on the run for over two decades, having fled just before his federal trial in Illinois was due to start.

The fugitive is wanted for violating release conditions after facing serious charges of bank fraud, identification document fraud, and credit card fraud.

In August 2001, he allegedly attempted to withdraw funds with a fraudulent cheque in Champaign, Illinois, and used stolen identities to open financial accounts.

Adediran absconded from the Central District of Illinois in December 2001, prompting a federal arrest warrant issued in January 2002.

The FBI’s renewed hunt marks a decisive effort to end a long-standing fugitive case.

The Bureau shared the reward announcement on its official X account, calling it a crucial step in bringing Adediran to justice after more than 20 years on the run.
