Venita Akpofure boundaries message highlights need for respect, cautioning against being too accessible in personal and professional life

Actress and reality television star Venita Akpofure has stressed the importance of setting firm boundaries in both personal and professional relationships, warning that excessive openness can lead to a loss of respect.

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Venita Akpofure explained that being overly friendly can often be misunderstood, creating unintended access and diminishing perceived value in social and work environments.

The Venita Akpofure boundaries perspective reflects a deliberate approach to self-preservation, as she argued that maintaining a level of distance can help individuals command respect and protect their space.

“You just need not to be too friendly. When you are too friendly, people take your friendliness as a sign of access. It’s better to be called a ‘bitch’, to be feared and respected, than to be seen as too casual,” she said.

Beyond relationships, Venita Akpofure also addressed her career trajectory, clarifying that her transition from modelling to acting was a natural evolution rather than a reinvention.

She described the shift as an expansion of her creative scope, noting that staying relevant in the entertainment industry has not been particularly challenging.

Reflecting on the realities of fame, Venita Akpofure cautioned that public figures must be prepared for inevitable slow periods, describing such phases as part of a dynamic career journey that requires adaptability.

“Many public figures don’t understand that there will be pauses at some point. If you don’t learn how to adapt or flip the script organically, you may end up stuck and forgotten,” she said.

In a more personal moment, she highlighted the importance of embracing growth while remaining connected to different stages of one’s identity.

Venita Akpofure noted that every phase of her life continues to shape her outlook and resilience.
