Rotary International President for 2025–2026, Francesco Arezzo, announced the recognition in a message addressed to district governors, congratulating them on their leadership and contributions to the organisation’s growth.
Arezzo said the award reflected the efforts of clubs to improve members’ experiences, support their communities and strengthen Rotary’s global impact.
He noted that clubs across the recognised districts had worked to increase membership, contribute to The Rotary Foundation, participate in Rotary programmes, improve their public image and deliver community service initiatives.
“As a result, at least half of the Rotary clubs in your district earned the 2025–2026 Club Excellence Award,” Arezzo said in the message.

He added that the District Excellence Award was intended to recognise the collective achievements of districts whose clubs had met the organisation’s standards for excellence.
Arezzo encouraged district governors to share the recognition with their leadership teams and use it as motivation to sustain their performance in the following Rotary year.
He also congratulated the recipients for their efforts to grow Rotary and strengthen its service to communities.
The award highlights the importance of effective district leadership and active club participation in advancing Rotary’s objectives, including membership development, humanitarian service, support for The Rotary Foundation and stronger public engagement.
