In line with Rotary International’s objective to protect the environment by being proactively involved in tree planting, Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa has fully carried out this year’s planned activity of tree planting at Olososun Primary School, Ojota, a project which District 9110 has heavily vested its resources and energy.
This year’s event got the needed attention and attraction as the club members rallied round the project with much oomph and effervescence. The team is being led by the club’s imaginative president, the 2nd and 1st female club president, Rotarian Tonna Oguzie Ofuazia.
The theme, ‘Children Happy Planting Tree’ is centred around getting the children involved in tree planting as well as teaching them to imbibe the culture of protecting the environment; hence the need for the younger generation to be responsive and proactive to a healthy planet through tree planting.
With this year’s focus, it is indeed the right step in the right direction towards protecting our one and only planet earth. Now more than ever, our planet needs us to step up and take action towards cleaning up many messes done in to it. With tree planting, together we bring our ecosystem back into balance.
