Easter festival, according to President Muhammadu Buhari, “reminds us that God can turn a painful circumstance around for good.” In an Easter letter to Nigerians that he signed on Friday, he made this statement and added that the central theme of Easter is the victory of light over darkness.

Recognizing that Easter is about rekindling hope and a magnificent future, Buhari advised all Nigerians to remain self-assured and sincerely believe that better times are ahead for the nation.

With the country having concluded the 2023 general elections, the President congratulated the newly elected leaders even as he acknowledged the right of those who feel dissatisfied with the outcome to seek redress.

He said he expects them to wait patiently and allow the legal system to run its course. The opportunity to lead the nation since 2015, according to Buhari, has been a rare honor. He said he has been guided by the commitments he made to maintain Nigeria’s unity, prosperity, and security.

The President urged Nigerians to celebrate Easter in a spirit of love, compassion, kindness, forbearance, and perseverance.
