Men of the Nigeria Police in Ogun State have arrested a gang of hoodlums, including a young lady, suspected to have killed a businessman, Akinola Agbede, in Akute, a border town between Lagos and Ogun State on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
Information gathered from multiple sources revealed that the alleged gang leader and the suspected killer of the deceased, identified as 25-year-old Olabode Aremu laid ambush on Agbede who was a landlord in the area in the wee hours of the night, burgled his house, and machete him to death.
According to a source, Aremu was earlier arrested for an offence, which led to his parade in the community before he was taken into custody. But after he gained his freedom two days after, he and his gang allegedly accused the deceased of making jest of him while he was been paraded in the community.
The suspects, who allegedly used an uncompleted building directly opposite the deceased house in Akute as their hideout, were accused of several heinous crimes within the Akute and its suburbs.

Unfortunately, the deceased and his immediate family were billed to leave the country next week to seek greener pastures before the terror struck in the middle of the night.
The family of the deceased has pleaded to the governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun to intervene and rapidly bring these hoodlums to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
However, the residents have also called on the authorities to enforce the ban on the illegal occupation of abandoned buildings and properties under construction across the state.
