Remand order issued in Adamawa murder case ruling was delivered by Chief Magistrate Bello Ismail, who directed that Safiyanu Mohammed, 22, and Muhammed Bello, 20, remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
The defendants are facing multiple charges including criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, theft, and culpable homicide under Sections 60, 248, 276, and 191 of the Adamawa State Penal Code Law.
According to the prosecution led by ASP Zakka Musa, the incident occurred on March 30, 2026, after a report was filed at the Shelleng Divisional Police Headquarters concerning the disappearance of the victim from Babban Dada village.
The prosecutor told the court that the boy’s body was later discovered in a bush during a search operation, and that investigations led to the arrest of the suspects.
It was further alleged that the deceased was sent to collect a mobile phone from the wife of one Saidu Modi under false pretences, believing the item was requested by her husband.
The prosecution stated that after delivering the phone, the boy was allegedly killed to prevent identification, with his body later dumped in a nearby bush.
Police investigations reportedly tracked the mobile phone, which played a key role in locating and arresting the suspects, who are said to have confessed during interrogation.
