Amy Rees ticket fraud case sees Welsh woman admit selling fake Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets, defrauding fans of nearly £3,000

Amy Rees, 38, appeared before magistrates at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court in Cardiff on Monday, 17 February 2026, where the Bridgend woman admitted Amy Rees ticket fraud involving counterfeit tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, defrauding fans of nearly £3,000.

Rees, of Nantymoel, pleaded guilty to 12 counts of fraud relating to offences committed between September 2023 and June 2024.

The total sum obtained exceeded £2,800, with one victim losing £623.

The court heard that the fraudulent sales coincided with Taylor Swift’s sold out performance at Principality Stadium in June 2024.

The concert formed part of the singer’s 21 month Eras Tour spanning 50 cities, with 67,000 fans attending the Cardiff show amid exceptional demand.

Rees confirmed her name, age and address before entering guilty pleas to all charges. Defence counsel described her as previously of clean character.

Magistrates ordered a pre sentence report and adjourned sentencing until 10 March. Rees was granted unconditional bail.

The case highlights a persistent and troubling pattern of ticket scams surrounding high profile tours.

In recent years, similar schemes have targeted fans in Canada and the United Kingdom, exploiting intense demand and limited supply.

While the financial losses in this instance were modest compared with larger international fraud cases, the emotional impact on victims seeking to attend a landmark concert has been significant.

The prosecution described the conduct as deliberate and calculated.

The Amy Rees ticket fraud case underscores ongoing concerns within the live entertainment industry about consumer protection and the vulnerabilities created by online resale markets.
