The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has announced plans to begin the process of removing 100,000 companies from its official register, warning affected businesses to regularise their records within 90 days or risk being struck off.
The commission issued the notice as part of its latest compliance exercise, known as Batch 6, carried out under the provisions of Section 692 (3) and (4) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020.

According to the CAC, the affected companies have outstanding obligations, including the filing of annual returns and the submission of Persons with Significant Control or Beneficial Ownership information where required.
The commission advised the listed companies to take immediate steps to update their records and submit evidence of compliance through the designated email channel provided for the exercise.
The strike off process is part of the regulator’s ongoing efforts to maintain an accurate and reliable corporate register by ensuring that businesses operating under the Companies and Allied Matters Act comply with statutory requirements.
The CAC said companies that fail to meet the 90-day deadline will be removed from the register without further notice.
Members of the public and business owners were directed to access the full list of affected companies through the commission’s official website and verify their compliance status.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to improving corporate governance standards and providing efficient services to businesses and stakeholders across Nigeria.
