Daddy Freeze reflects on Alex Ekubo relationship issues spark reactions as media personality reflects on actor’s emotional struggles before death

Media personality Daddy Freeze has shared emotional remarks about late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, claiming the actor struggled deeply following his highly publicised breakup with former fiancée Fancy Acholonu.

Daddy Freeze shares views on Alex Ekubo breakup drama were made in a video shared on Instagram, where the broadcaster reflected on conversations and moments he allegedly shared with the late actor after the relationship collapsed.

According to Daddy Freeze, Alex Ekubo visited his home after the breakup, and it became obvious that the emotional impact of the separation had weighed heavily on him.

Media personality said he encouraged the actor to publicly share his side of the story during the controversy, but Alex Ekubo chose to remain silent throughout the online backlash and speculation surrounding the failed engagement.

Daddy Freeze claimed the scandal marked a turning point in the actor’s life, describing him as someone who generally avoided controversy and preferred to stay away from public drama.

“He never recovered from that scandal,” Daddy Freeze said, adding that the emotional burden allegedly affected the actor deeply in the years that followed.

The comments have generated fresh conversations online about the intense scrutiny celebrities face during public relationship breakdowns and the emotional toll such situations can create.

Alex Ekubo and Fancy Acholonu had announced their engagement in 2021, with wedding plans scheduled for later that year before the relationship unexpectedly ended.

The breakup later spiralled into public controversy after Fancy Acholonu made several social media statements regarding their relationship, leading to widespread speculation and online reactions.

Despite repeated allegations and public exchanges, Alex Ekubo largely maintained silence on the matter, only responding minimally in leaked audio recordings that later surfaced online.

Daddy Freeze further suggested that emotional distress may have weakened the actor mentally during his health battle, though he acknowledged that Alex Ekubo ultimately died from cancer complications.
