Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road theft raises alarm as tipper trucks allegedly steal materials, with workers suspected of collusion
Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road is reportedly the target of repeated thefts, with tipper trucks allegedly removing construction materials at the Gudu Gudu area near Eko Akete Bus Stop in Ibeju Lekki.

Sources on-site claim that some project workers may be colluding with the thieves, allowing materials intended for public infrastructure to be diverted.

Eyewitnesses said the tipper trucks were observed loading materials under cover of early morning and evening hours, making it difficult for security personnel to respond promptly.
The alleged thefts come amid heightened scrutiny of Lagos State infrastructure projects, where previous reports of vandalism and material diversion have sparked calls for improved monitoring and accountability.
Officials from the project have yet to comment publicly, but residents urge immediate action to safeguard construction materials and ensure the timely completion of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.
