Terrorists kidnap pastor’s son in Ondo community attack

Ondo Kidnapping Attack as armed assailants invade Idogun community, destroy homes and abduct pastor’s nine-year-old son in early morning raid

Armed assailants invaded the Igbosi area of Idogun in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State in the early hours of Friday, destroying two buildings and abducting a nine-year-old boy during a violent night attack.

The attackers were said to have stormed the community at about 1am, firing sporadic gunshots to instil fear and force residents to flee their homes.

During the invasion, the assailants reportedly destroyed two residential buildings before abducting the victim, identified as Oluwatobi, the young son of Pastor Isaac Olaosebikan.

Residents were thrown into panic and fled into nearby communities for safety as the attackers operated freely during the raid.

The incident occurred within Ose Local Government Area, further heightening concerns over security in rural settlements across the state.

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the attack and said a coordinated manhunt has been launched to rescue the victim and apprehend the suspects.

Police spokesperson DSP Abayomi said the command received reports of the invasion in the early hours of the day and immediately deployed tactical and intelligence teams to the area.

He added that officers, alongside the Amotekun Corps, have begun combing nearby forests and possible escape routes in a search-and-rescue operation.

Security agencies also confirmed that investigations have commenced, with evidence gathered from the scene to aid efforts to track down the attackers.

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Felix Ohagwu, ordered intensified operations to ensure the safe return of the abducted child and the arrest of those responsible.
