State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, said on Thursday that the project exemplifies the Ahmed Usman Ododo administration’s commitment to providing modern and inspiring learning environments for pupils.
“The newly remodelled school reflects the government’s broader policy of structural standardisation in public schools across Kogi State, aimed at ensuring that pupils learn in safe, beautiful, and conducive environments,” Fanwo stated.
He added that Governor Ododo, himself a product of public schools, is determined to restore parental confidence in public education and consolidate infrastructure strides achieved by previous administrations.
The Commissioner emphasised that the Onyunkoko project is part of a wider initiative, with several other schools across the state currently undergoing similar upgrades to reposition the education sector.
“Providing free education in dilapidated structures would amount to a disservice to our future leaders. That is why the government is steadily restoring schools, touching as many as resources allow,” Fanwo said.
He noted that the remodelling has already brought visible results.
“The pictures before and after the upgrade clearly tell the story of what a focused and committed government can achieve. More importantly, the smiles on the pupils’ faces reflect their excitement and renewed pride in their school,” he added.
