The principal disclosed that the kidnappers attributed the killings to intense pressure from security operatives.
The coordinated attack on 15 May targeted Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School, and L.A. Primary School in Esiele, resulting in the abduction of approximately 39 pupils and several teachers. One teacher was reported killed early in captivity, with the second death confirmed later as negotiations and rescue efforts intensified.
Security forces from the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, police, and local hunters mounted a sustained operation in the Old Oyo National Park area.
On 10 July, after 56 days, the remaining victims were successfully rescued and handed over to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in emotional scenes. Eight kidnappers were arrested during the operation, which reportedly involved no ransom payment.

Mrs Alamu, who endured the ordeal alongside the group, expressed gratitude upon her release. She thanked President Bola Tinubu and security agencies for their efforts in securing the freedom of the survivors.
Families of the deceased teachers have voiced profound sorrow. One relative of a slain educator noted the mixed emotions felt as others celebrated reunions while their own loss remained permanent.
This incident forms part of a troubling pattern of school abductions in Nigeria, highlighting ongoing security challenges in rural communities.

Earlier protests in Ibadan, led by activist VeryDarkMan, and high-level visits by officials underscored public anxiety during the prolonged captivity.
The rescued pupils and teachers are currently receiving medical attention and psychological support before full reunions with their loved ones.
The tragic deaths of Mr John Olaleye and Mr Michael Oyedokun cast a solemn shadow over the relief, reminding all of the heavy human cost exacted by such violence.
May their souls rest in perfect peace.
