TheatreMania Africa youth theatre initiative launches in Ogun State with mentorship sessions and stage performances for students
AGBARA, Ogun State, May 22, 2026. TheatreMania Africa has announced a new collaboration with Corona Secondary School, Agbara, for the launch of the Generation Next Theatre Initiative aimed at nurturing young creative talents.

The youth theatre initiative is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional development within the creative arts industry.
According to the organisers, the project will begin on June 4, 2026, with a mentorship programme known as the Master Circle, before concluding with a stage production titled “Whispers 4.0” on June 5.
The initiative will feature respected figures from the theatre and corporate sectors, including Dr Sam Uche Anyamele, Bukola Thomas, Tomiwa Songonnuga, Julius Olaolu Oyekanmi, Paul Uwagbai and Dr Ochuko Odesa.
Speaking on the project, TheatreMania Africa Chief Executive Officer, Alayande Stephen, described the initiative as a powerful platform for developing the next generation of African storytellers.
Alayande explained that bringing experienced industry professionals directly into the school environment would expose students to practical guidance and real world creative experiences beyond academic studies.
Dr Sam Uche Anyamele also highlighted the transformative power of the arts, noting that theatre remains a valuable tool for personal growth and social development.
The organisers added that the programme forms part of the activities leading up to the TheatreMania Africa Festival 2026.

Students of Corona Secondary School, Agbara are expected to participate in immersive mentorship sessions and live theatre performances designed to sharpen creativity, confidence and artistic expression.
