Rising actress Ruth Eze cautions Nigerians to wait and marry right, warning against rushing into marriage due to online pressure or societal trends

Wait and marry right is the advice actress Ruth Eze has boldly shared as Nollywood witnesses a surge in celebrity weddings.

While fellow actresses Ruby Orjiakor, Ibiwari Etuk and Evan Okoro recently tied the knot with public fanfare, Ruth Eze has taken a different stance one of caution and clear-sighted reflection.

The Imo State-born actress urged young women to resist the pressure of online trends and societal expectations.

According to her, many now jump into marriage not out of love or readiness but to fulfil a narrative curated by digital applause.

“It’s better to wait and marry right,” she said emphatically. “A lot of people are rushing into marriage because of social media pressure.

My sister, it’s better to wait and marry right oh. Don’t allow the internet to deceive you. Don’t go and marry a madman just to pepper people who don’t even care about you. You might end up regretting it.”

Ruth emphasised that compatibility and self-awareness must outweigh competition or comparison. In her view, everyone has their journey and timeline.

She encouraged patience and personal choice, even suggesting that having a child outside of wedlock should not be stigmatised if done with intention and care.

“Everybody should calm down. Wait and marry right. And if you want to have a child while waiting, there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve said my own,” she added with a touch of humour and finality.

Though she often works closely with male colleagues on set, Ruth Eze made it clear that marriage to an actor is out of the question.

She strongly believes in maintaining boundaries between her professional life and her personal affairs. “I’ll never, ever marry an actor. Never ever,” she said, underscoring her preference for emotional balance over convenience.

On the subject of relationships, Ruth offered a candid answer when asked to prioritise love, sex and money. With a laugh, she admitted, “Hahaha… I don’t know oh, but I think money. Because even love without money is not sweet at all.”

Famed for her curvy figure, Ruth also addressed her appearance without shame or apology. She spoke proudly of her bust, describing it as a blessing. “It’s a beautiful advantage to be busty. At least if I give birth now, my baby won’t lack breast milk!”

In a film industry driven by visibility and public opinion, Ruth Eze’s message is refreshingly grounded.

Her words challenge the fast-paced rhythm of celebrity romance and serve as a reminder that behind every wedding photo lies a lifetime of choices. For Ruth, the spotlight can wait what matters is marrying right.
