INEC Continuous Voter Registration 2025 begins in Bauchi with a call to eligible voters to register, update records, and collect PVCs.

INEC Continuous Voter Registration 2025 has officially begun in Bauchi State, as the Independent National Electoral Commission calls on all eligible Nigerians to participate in the process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

At a press briefing on Friday, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Bauchi, Umar Ibrahim, encouraged qualified citizens to visit designated registration centres for fresh registration, correction of personal details, PVC replacement, and transfer of voting location.

“I call on all eligible Nigerians in Bauchi State to take full advantage of this opportunity,” Ibrahim said. “Please register, update your records where necessary, and collect your PVCs.”

  • Registering new voters
  • Correcting personal information such as names, dates of birth, addresses, and gender
  • Replacing lost, damaged, or defaced PVCs
  • Allowing transfers of voter registration within or across states
  • Collecting unclaimed PVCs from the 2022 CVR exercise

Ibrahim revealed that online pre-registration began on Monday, August 18, 2025, while physical registration is scheduled to commence on Monday, August 25, 2025, and will run simultaneously with the online platform until August 30, 2026.

Physical registration will take place at:

  • INEC State Office, Bauchi
  • 20 INEC Local Government Area Offices
  • Weekdays only, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, excluding public holidays

The REC stressed that the commission will not tolerate:

  • Multiple registrations
  • Underage registration
  • Proxy collection of PVCs
  • Obstruction of INEC officials

Such offences, he warned, carry severe penalties under the Electoral Act 2022.

To enhance transparency, INEC will display the Preliminary Register of Voters quarterly for public scrutiny, enabling eligible citizens to raise claims, objections, or corrections.

“The Commission remains fully committed to ensuring a free, fair, transparent, and inclusive voter registration process,” Ibrahim affirmed.
