Court remands Koko Zaria over assault after Lagos magistrate orders prison custody for alleged attack on Nollywood actor Baba Lawori
A Lagos Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of National Union of Road Transport Workers chieftain Ganiyu Oyedepo over allegations of assault involving Nollywood actor Ade Adele.

The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate B. Sonuga, ordered Oyedepo’s remand in prison custody following his arraignment on charges including conspiracy, assault occasioning harm, and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges brought by operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Alagbon, during proceedings held in Lagos.
Prosecutor Morufu Animashaun told the court that the defendant allegedly conspired with others on June 5, 2024, in Idimu, Lagos, leading to an attack on Ade Adele.
He further alleged that during the incident, some assailants, described as associates of Oyedepo, used a bottle to inflict injuries on the actor’s head.
The court was told that the alleged offences contravene Sections 411, 173, and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
Chief Magistrate Sonuga subsequently ordered that Oyedepo be remanded pending further hearing, marking a significant development in the ongoing case.
