The new aircraft will enhance transit times, improve delivery predictability, and extend DHL’s logistics reach across West Africa and beyond.
Anthony Beckley, Vice President of Operations and Aviation for DHL Express Sub-Saharan Africa, said the investment comes as regional trade grows under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
“Businesses are demanding predictable transit times and consistent delivery performance. These dedicated aircraft strengthen connections on critical Africa-Europe and Africa-Asia trade lanes,” he said.
Riaan Vorster, Senior Director of DHL Aviation SSA, added that the development underscores the company’s commitment to supporting businesses in e-commerce, perishables, energy, and life sciences & healthcare.
“With this latest investment, DHL Express reaffirms its position as the logistics partner of choice for businesses seeking to grow their presence in regional and global value chains,” he noted.
DHL said the aircraft will integrate with its existing African operations and complement broader initiatives, including AI-enabled route optimisation, digital customs tools, and renewable energy pilots to support environmental sustainability.
