In a bold step towards strengthening its public image and communication capacity, Rotary International District 9112 has officially unveiled the District 9112 Media Centre Campaign, a major fundraising initiative aimed at raising N50 million within 30 days to establish a modern Media Centre at the District Office in Ikeja, Lagos.

The initiative, driven by the District Public Image Committee, is designed to revolutionise how Rotary activities, humanitarian interventions and community impact stories are documented, produced and shared with the wider public.
Announcing the campaign on Friday, the committee noted that Rotary’s decades of transformational service across communities have often remained underreported despite the scale of impact achieved through various projects in health, education, youth development, peacebuilding and economic empowerment.
“We have served communities, changed lives, supported education, fought disease and built futures. Yet the world has not fully heard our story. That changes now,” said PAG Chinedu Ebo, Chairman of the District Public Image Committee 2026-27.
According to the committee, the proposed Media Centre will include a fully equipped Broadcast Studio, professional Editing Suite, Digital Imaging Suite and Information Centre capable of supporting all 90 Rotary clubs within District 9112.
The facility is expected to become the communication hub of the district by providing clubs with access to high quality media production, press support, digital storytelling, branding materials, photography, video production, livestreaming and public relations services.
Beyond internal communication, the project is also expected to improve Rotary’s visibility across mainstream and digital media platforms while positioning the district as a leading voice in humanitarian storytelling and impact communication.
Organisers of the campaign stressed that the initiative should not be viewed merely as a donation drive but as a strategic investment in the future of Rotary’s visibility and institutional legacy.
To achieve the N50 million target, the committee is inviting 1,000 Rotarians and friends of Rotary to subscribe at N50,000 per person.

One of the key highlights of the initiative is its sustainability model.
PAG Chinedu explained that the Media Centre is being designed not only as a communication asset for Rotary activities but also as a self sustaining facility capable of generating revenue through media services, strategic partnerships, studio usage, content development, event coverage and collaborations with organisations outside Rotary.
This approach, according to stakeholders, will ensure the long term viability of the project while reducing dependence on periodic fundraising.
The Public Image chairman expressed confidence that the collective effort of Rotarians across the district would make the vision a reality within the campaign timeline.
“One thousand of us, giving N50,000 each, will build something that serves District 9112 and beyond for generations,” he stated.
The launch of the Media Centre Campaign represents a significant milestone in Rotary District 9112’s broader strategy to modernise its communication infrastructure and expand public awareness of Rotary’s humanitarian mission.
Observers within the district say the project reflects a growing recognition that impactful service alone is no longer enough in today’s digital era without strong visibility, storytelling and strategic media engagement.
By investing in professional communication infrastructure, District 9112 aims to amplify its voice, inspire greater public participation, attract partnerships and preserve the stories behind its countless interventions across communities.
The campaign will run for 30 days.
