Hull City centre-back Semi Ajayi is nearing a return to action following a hamstring injury sustained at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Assistant coach Dean Holden confirmed that the 32-year-old’s recovery is progressing as planned, although Ajayi has not yet resumed full team training.
Ajayi has missed the Tigers’ last seven matches across all competitions due to the injury. He joined Hull City on a free transfer last summer, leaving West Bromwich Albion, and has scored once in 12 league appearances for the club.

Holden expressed confidence in Ajayi’s rehabilitation, noting the player is responding well to treatment and fitness work.
The defender’s return is expected to strengthen Hull City’s backline as the Championship season progresses.
