Odumeje TikTok ban, Nigerian cleric miracles controversy

Nigerian cleric Odumeje claims TikTok blocked him over “dangerous miracles,” suggesting his controversial acts exceeded platform guidelines.

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]opular Nigerian cleric Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje, has claimed that TikTok blocked him due to his unconventional and “dangerous miracles.”

Speaking to his congregation, the preacher suggested that his unique brand of miracles may have made TikTok wary, resulting in the platform disconnecting his account.

In a clip that has circulated online, Odumeje shared his belief that his miracles, which he describes as powerful and extraordinary, led to his removal from the popular video-sharing platform.

“Even social media is rejecting me,” he remarked to his followers. “Because of my dangerous miracles, TikTok rejected me. They disconnected me. They said this miracle is beyond them.”

Odumeje, known for his unorthodox preaching style and dramatic displays of faith, has garnered a large following both online and offline.

His ministry often features what he calls “dangerous miracles,” which have generated significant attention and divided opinions, with some supporters praising his displays as acts of divine power and others expressing scepticism.

While TikTok has not provided an official reason for Odumeje’s removal, the platform has policies in place against content that promotes dangerous or potentially harmful acts.

The cleric, however, believes that sceptics who disapprove of his miracles may have influenced the decision, preventing him from maintaining a presence on the platform.

Odumeje’s case has sparked discussions on social media regarding the boundaries of religious expression online and the responsibilities of platforms in managing content that may be seen as controversial or potentially harmful.
