Speaking in an interview with CNBC Africa, Balogun described the declining trade deficit as a positive development but stressed the importance of achieving a balanced trade relationship.

“The decreasing trade deficit with the U.S. is a good sign, but we must work towards a balanced trade structure that benefits both nations,” Balogun stated.

As Nigeria seeks to expand its global trade footprint, he emphasised the need for stronger economic ties, improved investment opportunities, and policy frameworks that enhance exports to the U.S.
