Army Chief Waidi Shaibu deploys additional troops to Benue, pledging enhanced security and troop welfare to combat banditry in affected communities
Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has announced the deployment of additional troops to Benue State to reinforce ongoing operations against bandit attacks, assuring residents of improved security.

During his maiden operational visit to army formations in Makurdi, Shaibu said the visit aimed to evaluate operational preparedness and ensure personnel were well-positioned to address security challenges.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to protecting territorial integrity and safeguarding the nation. Our troops are highly professional and resilient, and this deployment reinforces our resolve to secure communities affected by banditry,” he stated.
Shaibu also emphasised the welfare of soldiers under his leadership, promising a supportive environment to help personnel excel in their careers. He urged discipline, alertness, and adherence to lawful directives to strengthen national security.
