Faith-Based Film Training Led by Kendrick Brothers,  Programme initiative in Nigeria formed part of a six day intensive masterclass and spiritual formation programme hosted at the Gospel Cinema International and High Definition Film Academy facility in Gwarinpa, aimed at equipping Christian filmmakers from Nigeria and Zambia with professional and faith driven production skills.

Stephen Kendrick of the Kendrick Brothers, known for films such as War Room, Fireproof, Courageous, Overcomer, Facing the Giants and The Forge, delivered a keynote session titled “Heart of the Filmmaker,” where he emphasised storytelling rooted in purpose and conviction.

Actor Cameron Arnett led sessions focused on “Christ Over Career” and practical acting techniques for film, urging participants to maintain spiritual integrity while pursuing creative excellence.

Nick Carey of Kingdom Story Company also addressed participants on the making of commercially successful faith based films.

Other facilitators included Bob Saenz, Beverly Holloway, David Cook, Adam Drake, Prince Daniel (Aboki), Lummie Edevbie, Chris Odeh and Jennifer Keltner, who delivered workshops across screenwriting, directing, cinematography, acting and identity based storytelling.

The programme opened with a worship session and a keynote by Bright Wonder Obasi titled “Calling & Identity: Film as Spiritual Influence,” where he challenged participants to view filmmaking as a tool for cultural transformation and moral storytelling.

Participants were divided into four production units named House of Gideon, House of Caleb, House of Joshua and House of David.

Over several days, they underwent intensive hands on training in all major areas of filmmaking, alongside structured spiritual formation sessions designed to reinforce purpose driven creativity.

On the fourth day, participants pitched original short film concepts for review, before progressing to full scale production on the fifth day under professional supervision and real industry conditions.

The programme concluded on the sixth day with a Pitch-A-Thon session, public screening of four completed short films, expert panel feedback, certification of all participants and an awards ceremony recognising excellence across multiple creative categories.

House of Caleb received awards for Best Sound Design and Best Male Actor for its film Liminal, while House of Joshua emerged as the most awarded team, securing Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Editing and Best Female Actor for Confidence.

House of David won Best Picture and Best Cinematography for Inward, which was praised for its visual storytelling.

All four short films produced during the programme are scheduled to premiere at the Africa International Christian Film Festival in Abuja from June 3 to 6, 2026, at Silverbird Cinemas.

The closing ceremony featured a commissioning session led by Pastor Ikenna Okeke, who prayed for the participants and described them as a “creative generation set apart for influence and impact.”

Bright Wonder Obasi described AGFP 2026 as “a movement to raise storytellers who will shape culture and influence nations through truth driven films that honour God,” adding that the programme reflects a long term vision to train 300 Christian filmmakers across Africa.
