The arrest was carried out by officers attached to the Owode-Egba Division following a report lodged by the manager of the affected company on May 30.
According to the police, the manager informed officers that Ayuba had earlier been intercepted by operatives of the Quick Response Squad at the Sagamu Interchange along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while allegedly attempting to move company property without authorisation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, who worked as a security guard for the company, was found in possession of several motor spare parts believed to have been unlawfully removed from the firm’s premises.
The recovered items included four air controls, two air boosters, two engine seats and two fuel pumps, all of which were identified as company property.
Police investigators said the suspect allegedly admitted to the theft during interrogation.
Detectives subsequently visited the company premises to carry out further investigations and document evidence connected to the case, while the recovered items were secured as exhibits.

The Ogun Police Arrest Security Guard case remains under investigation, with authorities confirming that the suspect is currently in custody.
Police said Ayuba would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Commenting on the development, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, commended the vigilance of the company’s management and the swift response of the Quick Response Squad and officers of the Owode-Egba Division.
He said their coordinated efforts led to the successful recovery of the alleged stolen property and the arrest of the suspect.
Ojajuni reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding businesses, critical assets and residents across the state through intelligence-driven policing and proactive crime prevention measures.
The police commissioner also urged employers and members of the public to remain alert and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies to support ongoing efforts to combat crime.
